CD-ROM Production Master Specifications
MAKE BACK UP COPIES. DO NOT send us the only copies of your masters.
The following formats are supported:
• CD-ROM (Mode 1 and Mode 2)
• CD-I and CD-XA
• CD Karaoke
• Photo CD
• Mixed Mode
• Enhanced CD (Blue Book, multimession CD)
• CD-DA
• Pre-Gap (track zero)
• CD-Text
Supported Copy Protection (Replication Orders Only):
• Macrovision, Safe Disc 1.0 & 2.0
CD-R master specifications:
• CD-Rs must conform to Red Book standard, must be recorded "Disc at Once" NOT "Track at Once", single session recording (unless enhanced CD, then Blue Book CD, multisession).
• Use ONLY high-quality media.
• CD-R master must be free of digital errors.
• CD-Rs must be free of fingerprints, scratches and/or dirt on the reading surface of the disc.
• CD-Rs should be packaged in single jewel boxes (not envelopes) to protect them from damage during shipping.
• DO NOT use ball-point pens to write information onto a CD-R as this could destroy the disc.
• Verify source to ensure that is correct and error free before sending
us CD master.

DVD Production Master Specifications
MAKE BACK UP COPIES. DO NOT send us the only copies of your masters.
DLT tape cartridges can be used for
DVD5,
DVD9, and
DVD10 formats. Two tapes must be submitted for
DVD9 orders (one tape for each layer). Two tapes should be submitted for DVD10 orders (one tape for each layer/side).
If your DVD order is to be CSS encrypted, the DLT format should be used.
DVD-R masters can ONLY be used for DVD5 or DVD10 orders. Two DVD-Rs should be submitted for DVD10 orders (one for each layer/side).
DLT requirements:
• Type III or IV
• ANSI labelled
• Image file to be encoded using DDP Version 2.0
• Recorded on DLT2000, DLT4000, DLT7000 or DLT8000.
DVD-R masters:
• DVD-R masters can ONLY be used for
DVD5 or DVD10 orders. DVD-Rs cannot be used for
DVD9 orders.
• 2 DVD-Rs must be submitted for DVD10 orders (one for each side).
• 2 DVD-Rs must be submitted for DVD10 orders (one for each side).
• DVD-Rs must be free of fingerprints, scratches and/or dirt on the reading surface of the disc.
• DVD-Rs should be packaged in single jewel boxes (not envelopes) to protect them from damage during shipping.
• DO NOT use ball-point pens to write information onto a DVD-R as this could destroy the disc.
• Perform extensive functionality testing of menus and programming before sending us master for DVD video.

Artwork Supplied Specifications
• All artwork must be submitted inHealey Disc templates. Artwork not submitted
in Healey Disc templates are subject to extra charges.
• All of your artwork files should be sent to us in an acceptable format
(see "Supported Formats", listed below).
• You can send us your files on diskette, zip, or CDR, or alternatively,
you can transfer them to us via FTP or e-mail (contact your Healey Disc Sales
Representative for more information on sending us files via FTP or e-mail).
• U.S. clients must be sure to include "Made in Canada." in
their artwork such that it will be clearly visible on the outside of their packaged
final product. U.S. customs requires that "Made in Canada." is present
on all product manufactured in Canada destined for resale in the U.S.
• All files must be colour separation ready (i.e.: CMYK (SWOP coated),
greyscale, and / or PMS® (solid coated)).
• All files must have the correct settings for trapping (0.216pt - 0.36pt
for offset printing, 0.2pt for silkscreening).
• All support files must be supplied with final layout (e.g. fonts, placed
images).
• You must send accurate colour proofs of your artwork along with your files
so that we can compare them to your graphics files and ensure that what you've
supplied us will output what you expect.
Supported Formats
We accept artwork in the following formats: Adobe Illustrator CS2 or lower, QuarkXPress 6.5 or lower, and Adobe Photoshop 7 or lower.
